Royal Rumble (2018)

The 2018 Royal Rumble was a professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by WWE. It took place on January 28, 2018, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was the 31st annual event under the Royal Rumble chronology and featured wrestlers from the Raw and SmackDown brands.

The event was notable for hosting the inaugural women's Royal Rumble match. As with the men's Royal Rumble match, the winner earned a championship match at WrestleMania 34 against their respective brand's women's champion (Raw Women's Champion or SmackDown Women's Champion).

The card featured multiple matches, including the two Royal Rumble matches (men's and women's), where participants entered at timed intervals and were eliminated by being thrown over the top rope with both feet touching the floor. Other matches on the card featured championships being defended.

The main event featured the men's Royal Rumble match, while the inaugural women's Royal Rumble match also served as a prominent match. Both matches followed the standard Royal Rumble rules.
