Rodin (crater)

Rodin is a crater located on Mercury. It is situated in the Shakespeare quadrangle and is named after the French sculptor Auguste Rodin. The crater exhibits a central peak and a relatively smooth interior floor. Its diameter is approximately 229 kilometers. The crater's rim is somewhat degraded, indicating that it is a relatively old feature on Mercury's surface. Rodin crater appears to be superposed on older features, suggesting it formed after those older terrains. Further studies of Rodin crater and its surroundings can provide valuable insights into the geological history and impact processes on Mercury.
