Robert Wynne (Irish politician)

Robert Wynne (born 15 October 1814, died 3 September 1878) was an Irish Conservative politician. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for County Sligo from 1865 to 1868, and again from 1874 to 1876.

Wynne was the eldest son of Owen Wynne of Hazlewood House, County Sligo, and Lady Sarah Elizabeth Cole, daughter of the 1st Earl of Enniskillen. He was educated at Eton College. He held the office of High Sheriff of County Sligo in 1844.

His political career was marked by staunch Conservatism, advocating for the interests of landlords and opposing Home Rule. He was a significant landowner in County Sligo. Wynne resigned his parliamentary seat in 1876. He died in 1878 and was succeeded in his estates by his son, Owen Wynne.
