Robert Ramage (jockey)
Robert Ramage was a jockey prominent in American Thoroughbred horse racing during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is best known for winning the 1904 Kentucky Derby aboard Elwood, a horse owned by Mrs. L. V. Garth. Ramage was a leading rider of his era, competing against and alongside other well-known jockeys such as Willie Simms and Nash Turner. Records of his complete racing career, including the total number of wins, are not readily available, but his victory in the Kentucky Derby remains a significant achievement. He was also noted for his connections to prominent stables and trainers of the time.
