Rob Gier
Rob Gier is a former professional footballer who represented the Philippines national team. Primarily a defender, he also played in midfield.
Gier began his professional career in England, playing for various clubs in the lower leagues. He spent time with clubs such as Rushden & Diamonds, Cambridge United, and Aldershot Town.
He qualified to play for the Philippines through his maternal grandmother and made his debut for the national team in 2009. Gier became a key player for the Azkals, as the Philippines national team is known, and captained the side on several occasions. He was known for his leadership qualities and commitment to the team.
Gier retired from professional football in 2016. Following his playing career, he has remained involved in football coaching.
