Rob Collins (musician)
Rob Collins (1963 – 1996) was an English keyboardist best known for his work with the British rock band The Charlatans.
Collins joined The Charlatans in 1989, quickly becoming a pivotal member known for his distinctive Hammond organ sound, which was a key ingredient in the band's signature blend of psychedelic and indie rock. His keyboard playing contributed significantly to the band's early success and helped define their sound on albums such as Some Friendly (1990), Between 10th and 11th (1992), and Up to Our Hips (1994).
Collins' career was cut short by his tragic death in a car accident in 1996. He was a highly regarded musician and his contributions to The Charlatans continue to be celebrated by fans and critics alike. His organ riffs are considered iconic within the Madchester and Britpop music scenes of the early to mid-1990s. He is survived by his son.
