Richard Holden (British politician)

Richard Holden (born 25 January 1985) is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for North West Durham since the 2019 general election.

Prior to entering Parliament, Holden worked as a special advisor to several Conservative ministers, including Grant Shapps and Gavin Williamson. He was also Head of Press for the Conservative Party during the 2017 general election.

Holden's political interests include transport, rural affairs, and education. He has been vocal on issues affecting his North West Durham constituency, such as promoting local businesses and supporting improvements to infrastructure. He has served on various parliamentary committees, contributing to debates and inquiries on a range of policy matters.

In July 2024, Holden was appointed Chairman of the Conservative Party.
