Rescue Me (American TV series)
Rescue Me is an American drama television series that aired on FX from July 21, 2004, to September 7, 2011, totaling seven seasons. The series focuses on the professional and personal lives of a group of New York City firefighters, particularly Tommy Gavin, in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks.
Created by Denis Leary and Peter Tolan, the show explores themes of survivor's guilt, grief, addiction, family, and male camaraderie within the demanding and dangerous profession of firefighting. Tommy Gavin, portrayed by Leary, struggles with the loss of his cousin and best friend, Jimmy Keefe, in the 9/11 attacks, as well as the disintegration of his marriage to Janet Gavin.
