Haffouz
Haffouz is a town located in central Tunisia, within the Governorate of Kairouan. It is situated approximately 30 kilometers southwest of the city of Kairouan. Haffouz is primarily an agricultural region, known for its production of olives, cereals, and livestock.
The town serves as the administrative center for the delegation of Haffouz, which encompasses several surrounding villages and rural areas. Its economy is largely dependent on agriculture and related industries, though some small-scale commerce also exists.
Historically, Haffouz has been a relatively quiet and unassuming settlement. While not prominently featured in major historical accounts, it shares in the broader history of the region, including periods of Roman, Arab, and Ottoman influence. Its population is predominantly Arab and Berber.
The infrastructure of Haffouz is modest, with essential services and facilities catering to the needs of the local population. These include schools, healthcare facilities, and basic amenities. As a rural area, Haffouz faces challenges related to economic development and infrastructure improvements.
