Pusha T
Pusha T (born Terrence Thornton on May 13, 1977) is an American rapper, songwriter, and record executive. He initially gained major recognition as one half of the hip-hop duo Clipse, formed with his brother No Malice (formerly Malice).
Pusha T is known for his intricate lyricism, vivid storytelling, and focus on themes of drug dealing and the lifestyle surrounding it, particularly cocaine trafficking, often drawing from his personal experiences. His signature style is characterized by his distinct delivery, intricate wordplay, and unflinching portrayal of street life.
Following Clipse's hiatus, Pusha T embarked on a successful solo career. He signed with Kanye West's GOOD Music label in 2010 and later served as its president from 2015 to 2022. His solo albums include My Name Is My Name (2013), King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude (2015), Daytona (2018), and It's Almost Dry (2022). Daytona was particularly acclaimed, receiving widespread critical praise and a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Album.
Beyond his own discography, Pusha T has contributed to numerous notable tracks, including collaborations with Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Kendrick Lamar. He is also recognized for his highly publicized feuds with other rappers, most notably Drake. His contributions to hip-hop have solidified his reputation as one of the genre's most respected and influential figures.
