Pinegrove (band)

Pinegrove is an American rock band formed in Montclair, New Jersey, in 2010. The band's lineup consists primarily of Evan Stephens Hall (vocals, guitar, songwriter), and Nick Levine (drums). They have also frequently collaborated with other musicians, often referred to as members of the "extended Pinegrove universe" or "Pinegrove Cinematic Universe."

The band is known for its blend of indie rock, country, and emo influences, creating a distinctive sound often described as "twangy indie rock." Their lyrics, written by Hall, often deal with themes of introspection, anxiety, environmentalism, and personal growth.

Pinegrove gained significant attention with the release of their second studio album, Cardinal, in 2016, which was critically acclaimed for its songwriting and musicianship. Following the album's success, the band faced controversy in 2017 when Hall issued a statement addressing allegations of sexual coercion. The band subsequently cancelled their tour and took a hiatus.

Pinegrove resumed performing and recording in 2018. They have since released several more albums, including Skylight (2018), Marigold (2020), 11:11 (2022), and Everything So Far (2023) all self-released or released through independent labels. The band continues to tour and remains a notable presence in the indie rock scene.
