Pia Kauma

Pia Kauma (born 1966) is a Finnish politician and Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the National Coalition Party (Kokoomus), part of the European People's Party (EPP). She was elected to the European Parliament in 2019.

Prior to her election to the European Parliament, Kauma served as a Member of Parliament in the Finnish Parliament (Eduskunta) for the Uusimaa constituency. She was first elected to the Finnish Parliament in 2011 and re-elected in 2015.

Kauma's political focus areas include issues related to security and defense, gender equality, and digitalization. In the European Parliament, she serves on committees and delegations that address these topics. She has been a vocal advocate for strengthening European security cooperation and promoting women's rights.

Outside of her parliamentary roles, Kauma has held positions in local government and various organizations. She has also been involved in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.
