Phil Galfond

Phil Galfond (born January 16, 1985) is an American professional poker player, coach, and entrepreneur. He is widely regarded as one of the best and most respected high-stakes online and live poker players in the world, specializing in Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) and mixed games.

Galfond began his poker career during college, rapidly climbing the ranks online. He quickly became known for his analytical approach to the game and his ability to adapt to different opponents and game formats. His online screen names, including "OMGClayAiken" and "MrSweets28," are synonymous with high-stakes poker.

He has won three World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets: in 2008 in Pot-Limit Omaha Rebuy, in 2015 in $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw Championship, and in 2018 in $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship. He also has numerous high finishes in other major poker tournaments.

Beyond his playing career, Galfond founded the poker training site Run It Once, which provides instructional videos and strategy articles from top poker professionals. He later launched Run It Once Poker, an online poker site with a focus on creating a more sustainable and equitable ecosystem for players. This site was later sold to Rush Street Interactive in 2022.
