Percy Evans (cricketer)

Percy Evans (born Percy Harold Evans on 22 April 1901 in Paddington, London, died 22 December 1974 in Littlehampton, Sussex) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Sussex between 1922 and 1938. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Evans appeared in 220 first-class matches, scoring 4,737 runs at an average of 16.61, with a highest score of 103 not out. He also took 384 wickets at an average of 28.86, with a best bowling performance of 7 for 54. He achieved one century and took five wickets in an innings on fourteen occasions. While primarily known for his contributions to Sussex cricket, detailed biographical information beyond his cricketing statistics is scarce.
