Paul Jones (horse)
Paul Jones was an American Standardbred racehorse, foaled in 1917. He was sired by Walnut Hall Farm's Peter the Great out of the mare Estella Stokes by Red Wilkes. A prominent trotter, Paul Jones was known for his speed and endurance. He achieved significant success on the Grand Circuit, a prestigious series of harness races. Among his notable victories were the Kentucky Futurity in 1920, and the Hambletonian Stakes, also in 1920. He was driven and trained by Thomas W. Murphy. Paul Jones was inducted into the Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 1963. He is considered one of the important horses in the early history of the Hambletonian.
