Paraćin
Paraćin is a town and municipality located in central Serbia, in the Pomoravlje District. As of 2011, the population of the town is 24,693, while the population of the municipality is 54,268.
Geography and Climate:
Paraćin is situated in the valley of the Velika Morava river, a fertile agricultural region. The climate is continental, with hot summers and cold winters.
History:
The area has a rich history dating back to prehistoric times. In Roman times, the settlement was known as Saltus Marmarensis. The modern town of Paraćin developed during the Ottoman period and later became an important industrial center in Serbia.
