Paixão (film)

Paixão, meaning "Passion" in Portuguese, is a 2012 Portuguese drama film directed by Margarida Cardoso. The film tells the story of a complex relationship between two sisters, Emilia and Luisa, following the death of their mother. Emilia returns to Portugal after a long absence in Mozambique and finds her sister Luisa living a very different life. Their reunion is marked by unresolved tensions, unspoken resentments, and a struggle to understand each other's choices and experiences. The film explores themes of family, memory, identity, and the lingering effects of colonialism.
