Order of Excellence (Jamaica)
The Order of Excellence is a Jamaican honour, the third highest in the Jamaican honours system. It is conferred upon persons who, in their field of endeavour, have achieved outstanding distinction and eminence in service to Jamaica.
The motto of the Order is "Excellence through service."
Holders of the Order of Excellence are entitled to use the post-nominal letters "O.E." after their names. They are also entitled to be styled "The Honourable" before their names, as long as they remain resident in Jamaica or maintain close ties with the country.
Foreign nationals may be appointed as honorary members of the Order.
The Chancellor of the Orders of the Societies of Honour is the Governor-General of Jamaica. The Secretary of the Orders is the person who holds the office of Cabinet Secretary.
The insignia of the Order consists of a badge and a ribbon. The badge is a gold cross with a circular centre depicting the Jamaican coat of arms. The ribbon is green, black, and gold.
