Onno Hoes

Onno Hoes (born June 5, 1961) is a Dutch politician and businessman. He is a member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).

Hoes served as the Mayor of Maastricht from 2010 to 2015. Prior to his mayoral role, he held various positions in the business sector, primarily in marketing and communication.

His tenure as Mayor of Maastricht was marked by both successes and controversy. While he was credited with promoting the city and attracting tourism, his personal life also garnered significant media attention, particularly regarding his relationships. He ultimately resigned from his position in 2015 due to the media pressure surrounding these issues.

Since leaving office, Hoes has remained active in the business world and has occasionally commented on political developments in the Netherlands.
