Ninth (Peter Murphy album)
Ninth is the ninth solo studio album by English singer-songwriter Peter Murphy, released on June 7, 2011. It was Murphy's first album of new material since 2004's Unshattered. The album was produced by David Baron and features a diverse range of musical styles, incorporating elements of rock, electronica, and Middle Eastern influences.
Ninth received generally positive reviews from critics, with many praising Murphy's distinctive vocals and the album's experimental sound. Key tracks include "I Spit Roses," "Seesaw Sway," "Memory Go," and "Secret Silk Society." The album also features a cover version of John Cale's "The Gift."
The album was supported by a world tour, during which Murphy performed songs from Ninth along with material from his previous solo albums and his work with the band Bauhaus. The album is notable for its exploration of themes related to memory, loss, and personal transformation.
