Nick Evans (trombonist)
Nick Evans (born 22 January 1947, Skegness, Lincolnshire, England) is a British jazz and progressive rock trombonist. He is best known for his work with the jazz-rock band Bloodwyn Pig in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Evans began his career in the late 1960s, working with various jazz and blues groups. His breakthrough came when he joined Bloodwyn Pig, contributing significantly to their distinctive sound with his trombone playing. He appeared on their albums Ahead Rings Out (1969) and Getting To This (1970).
Following his time with Bloodwyn Pig, Evans worked as a session musician and also pursued solo projects. He has played with a wide range of artists, including Peter Bardens, John Mayall, and Jade Warrior. He has also led his own bands and ensembles, exploring different styles of jazz and improvised music.
Evans continues to perform and record, showcasing his versatility and skill as a trombonist. He is regarded as an important figure in the British jazz and progressive rock scenes.
