Nefedʹev (crater)
Nefedʹev is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the southwest of the prominent crater Tsiolkovskiy, and northwest of Landau.
This crater is heavily eroded and damaged, with a low and heavily worn outer rim. Several smaller craters lie along the rim edge and the interior walls. The interior floor is relatively level, but is marked by a number of tiny craterlets. There is a slight central rise near the midpoint of the crater. Due to its degraded condition, Nefedʹev is difficult to distinguish from the surrounding terrain.
The name honors Russian rocket scientist and engineer Anatoliy Nefed'ev.
