USS Hanna

USS Hanna was the name of two ships in the United States Navy, named for Robert Hanna, a United States Senator from Indiana.

  • USS Hanna (DD-449), was a Fletcher-class destroyer, commissioned in 1942 and decommissioned in 1946. She saw extensive service in the Pacific Theater during World War II, participating in numerous engagements including the Battle of Guadalcanal and the Battle of Leyte Gulf.

  • USS Hanna (DE-449), was a John C. Butler-class destroyer escort, commissioned in 1944 and sunk by a German submarine in 1945 off the coast of Cherbourg, France. She was the only John C. Butler-class destroyer escort lost in the European Theater during World War II.
