National Reform Party (Belize)
The National Reform Party (NRP) was a political party in Belize. It was formed in 1999 by supporters of Derek Aikman, a former prominent politician in the United Democratic Party (UDP). Aikman had previously served as a minister in the UDP government but later fell out of favor with the party leadership.
The NRP contested the 2003 general election but failed to win any seats in the House of Representatives. The party's performance was relatively weak, and it did not significantly impact the overall election results.
Following the 2003 election, the National Reform Party gradually faded from Belizean politics. It did not contest subsequent elections and is generally considered to be defunct. Its legacy is primarily linked to the political career of Derek Aikman and the brief period of political realignment in Belize at the turn of the 21st century.
