Moto G4

The Moto G4 is a series of Android smartphones developed and manufactured by Motorola Mobility, a subsidiary of Lenovo. Released in 2016, the Moto G4 line succeeded the Moto G (3rd generation) and was later succeeded by the Moto G5. The series comprised three models: the Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, and Moto G4 Play.

The Moto G4 itself featured a 5.5-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor, and a 13-megapixel rear camera. It ran on Android 6.0 Marshmallow at launch and was later updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. The device was positioned as a budget-friendly option offering a balance of features and performance.

The Moto G4 Plus was a higher-end variant with a similar 5.5-inch display and processor as the G4, but included a 16-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus and phase detection autofocus (PDAF). It also offered a fingerprint sensor, which was absent in the standard G4 model.

The Moto G4 Play was a more affordable version with a smaller 5-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and an 8-megapixel rear camera. It also featured a lower resolution front-facing camera compared to the other models.

The Moto G4 series aimed to provide accessible Android experiences with respectable specifications at competitive price points. They were notable for their near-stock Android software, quick updates (at the time), and durability. The devices contributed to the continued popularity of the Moto G line as a significant player in the budget smartphone market.
