Mohombi
Mohombi Nzasi Moupondo (born August 17, 1986), most famously known as Mohombi, is a Congolese-Swedish singer, songwriter, and dancer. He was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo and raised in Sweden. Mohombi rose to international fame after releasing his debut album MoveMeant in 2011. His music blends various genres including R&B, hip hop, and African influences, often described as a fusion of Swahili and international sounds.
Mohombi gained initial recognition as part of the Swedish hip hop group Avalon, which he formed with his brother. After pursuing a solo career, he signed with RedOne's 2101 Records in joint venture with Universal Music Group.
His notable hit singles include "Bumpy Ride," "Coconut Tree" (featuring Nicole Scherzinger), "Dirty Situation" (featuring Akon), and collaborations with artists such as Nelly, Pitbull, and many others.
Beyond his own performing career, Mohombi has also worked as a songwriter and producer for other artists. He is involved in various philanthropic activities, using his platform to support causes related to education and development in Africa. He continues to release music and perform internationally.
