Mogorella

Mogorella is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Oristano in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 70 kilometers north of Cagliari and about 35 kilometers east of Oristano.

Mogorella is primarily an agricultural center. The economy is mainly based on farming, particularly the cultivation of cereals, olives, and grapes. Animal husbandry, especially sheep farming, is also significant.

The territory of Mogorella is characterized by rolling hills and fertile plains. The local climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters.

Historical records suggest that the area has been inhabited since the Nuragic period. The town’s name is believed to derive from a Roman-era agricultural estate. Mogorella has historically been a part of the Arborea giudicato, a medieval Sardinian kingdom.

The comune is part of the Unione dei Comuni Parte Montis.
