Ministry of Transport (Singapore)
The Ministry of Transport (MOT) is a ministry of the Government of Singapore responsible for the planning and management of land, sea, and air transportation in Singapore. - Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA): Responsible for the development and regulation of Singapore's port and maritime industry. It aims to promote Singapore as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre.
- Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS): Responsible for overseeing and regulating civil aviation in Singapore, including air traffic management, airport operations, and aviation safety.
The Ministry's responsibilities include formulating transport policies, regulating the transport industry, developing transport infrastructure, and promoting sustainable transport options. It plays a key role in Singapore's economic development by ensuring efficient connectivity and facilitating trade and tourism. The MOT also addresses challenges related to transport, such as congestion, pollution, and accessibility for all users. The Minister for Transport heads the Ministry.
