Michael McCormack (judge)
Michael McCormack is an American jurist who currently serves as a judge on the Nebraska Supreme Court. He was appointed to the court in 2012 by Governor Dave Heineman and retained by voters in 2014 and 2020.
Prior to his appointment to the Supreme Court, McCormack served as a judge on the Nebraska Court of Appeals for fourteen years. He was appointed to that position in 1998. Before becoming a judge, McCormack practiced law in private practice, focusing on civil litigation.
McCormack received his undergraduate degree from Creighton University and his law degree from Creighton University School of Law.
His judicial philosophy is generally considered to be moderate. He participates in cases involving a wide range of legal issues, including constitutional law, criminal law, and civil law.
