Meropi
Meropi is a Greek feminine given name. It is derived from Greek mythology, where Merope (various spellings exist) is the name of several figures. The name's etymology is debated, but it is often associated with the words "merops" (bee-eater bird) or "meros" (portion, share, fate).
In Greek mythology, the most well-known Merope is one of the seven Pleiades, daughters of Atlas and Pleione. She is sometimes called the "lost Pleiad" because she married a mortal (Sisyphus) and her star is supposedly dimmer than the others in the constellation. Other figures named Merope appear in different myths, often as queens or princesses.
The name Meropi carries connotations of beauty, misfortune, and a connection to nature. It is still used as a given name in Greece and other parts of the world.
