Mentor (comics)

Mentor is a codename used by several fictional characters in comic books, primarily published by Marvel Comics. The name is most commonly associated with A'lars, a member of the Eternals.

A'lars (Mentor)

A'lars is a prominent Eternal of Titan, one of the moons of Saturn. He is the son of Kronos and brother of Zuras. Following a catastrophic experiment by Kronos, which unleashed cosmic energies and granted the Eternals their powers, A'lars declined the leadership offered to him by Zuras. He instead chose to explore the cosmos and eventually settled on Titan. On Titan, he helped rebuild the civilization and became known as Mentor. A'lars is the father of Thanos and Eros (Starfox). As Mentor, he possesses vast cosmic powers typical of Eternals, including superhuman strength, durability, flight, energy projection, and telepathy. He often acts as a wise advisor and strategist.

Other Uses of "Mentor" in Comics:

While A'lars is the most recognized character using the codename, it's possible the name has been used by other minor characters in different comic universes. Due to the generic nature of the word, it's unlikely any other notable characters have been significantly associated with the name. The term "mentor" is also frequently used in a non-codified way to describe characters who guide or train others in the comics medium.
