Maud (wherry)

Maud, like other wherries, would have been specifically designed to navigate the shallow, narrow waterways of the region. Wherries played a vital role in the transportation of goods such as malt, coal, and farm produce before the advent of modern road transport. Some wherries, known as pleasure wherries, were adapted for passenger use, often featuring luxurious accommodations.
