Mary Carter (judge)

Mary Carter (born 1957) is an American judge, currently serving as a Justice on the Supreme Court of the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Court, located in Lame Deer, Montana. She has held this position since her appointment in 2007.

Prior to her judicial career, Carter worked extensively in tribal law, advocating for the rights of Native American communities and individuals. Her work often focused on issues of sovereignty, treaty rights, and self-determination.
