Bernard (footballer)
Bernard Anício Caldeira Duarte (born 8 September 1992), commonly known as Bernard, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger or attacking midfielder for Greek Super League club Panathinaikos.
Bernard began his professional career with Atlético Mineiro, where he won the Campeonato Mineiro and the Copa Libertadores in 2013. He subsequently moved to Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine for a reported fee of €25 million. During his time with Shakhtar, he won three Ukrainian Premier League titles, three Ukrainian Cups, and one Ukrainian Super Cup.
In 2018, Bernard joined Everton on a free transfer, playing in the English Premier League for three seasons. He then transferred to Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates in 2021, before joining Panathinaikos in Greece in 2022.
Bernard has also represented Brazil at the international level, including being part of the squad that finished fourth at the 2014 FIFA World Cup held in Brazil. He is known for his pace, dribbling ability, and technical skill.
