March 75A
The March 75A was a Formula One racing car designed and built by March Engineering for the 1975 Formula One season. It was a development of the previous year's March 741, featuring improvements to its aerodynamics and suspension. The "A" designation indicated an updated version of the chassis.
The car was powered by the Cosworth DFV engine, a standard and reliable powerplant of the era. Various drivers raced the March 75A, including Vittorio Brambilla, Hans-Joachim Stuck, and Lella Lombardi. Brambilla achieved the car's only victory at the 1975 Austrian Grand Prix, a race shortened due to torrential rain.
While the March 75A proved capable of winning under specific circumstances, it was not consistently competitive against the front-running teams of Ferrari and McLaren. March continued to develop and refine their Formula One cars in subsequent seasons, but the 75A remains a notable entry in the team's history, primarily due to Brambilla's unexpected victory.
