Mandoori
Mandoori, also sometimes seen as Mandori, refers to a traditional folk song and dance form originating from the Goa region of India, primarily among the Goan Catholic community. It often depicts themes of love, courtship, and social life. The music is characterized by its lively rhythm and use of instruments like the ghumat (a percussion instrument), violin, and guitar. The dance typically involves couples performing coordinated steps and gestures, often accompanied by singing in Konkani. Mandoori is considered an important part of Goan cultural heritage.
