Low Winter Sun (American TV series)
Low Winter Sun is an American crime drama television series that aired on AMC from August 11 to October 6, 2013. It is a remake of the 2006 British two-part television drama of the same name, created by Simon Donald.
The series is set in Detroit and revolves around Detective Frank Agnew (Mark Strong), who murders a corrupt fellow police officer, Detective Brendan McCann (Michael McKean). Agnew believes he has committed the perfect crime, but soon finds himself caught in a web of lies and deceit, haunted by his actions and facing the consequences of his choices.
The series explores themes of guilt, corruption, redemption, and the moral ambiguities of law enforcement. Agnew and his partner, Detective Joe Geddes (Lennie James), navigate the complexities of the Detroit underworld while attempting to conceal their crime.
Low Winter Sun received mixed reviews from critics. While Strong's performance was generally praised, the show was criticized for its slow pacing, bleak tone, and perceived lack of originality compared to other crime dramas. Due to low ratings, AMC canceled the series after one season. The show consists of ten episodes.
