Les Boyne

Les Boyne (born Leslie Boyne, July 16, 1941, Died April 28, 2006) was a British television director and producer, best known for his extensive work on long-running soap operas.

Boyne's career was primarily focused on the British television industry, particularly in the area of daytime and primetime serial drama. He directed multiple episodes of significant British soap operas, contributing to their visual style and storytelling.

His directorial credits include Coronation Street, where he worked for many years, as well as Emmerdale and Brookside. He also worked on the drama Children's Ward. His contribution to these programmes helped shape their narrative direction and character development over long periods.

Boyne's work on Coronation Street was particularly noteworthy due to the programme's iconic status in British culture. He was heavily involved in the transition of the series to three nights a week, helping to increase the number of episodes.

He died in April 2006 from cancer, aged 64.
