Kremstal
Kremstal is a wine-growing region in Lower Austria (Niederösterreich). It is located around the town of Krems an der Donau and extends along the Danube river. Kremstal is known for producing high-quality dry white wines, particularly Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. The region's vineyards benefit from the Pannonian climate, characterized by hot summers and cold winters, and the influence of the Danube river which moderates temperatures. The soil types are diverse, including loess, gravel, and primary rock, contributing to the complexity of the wines. Kremstal DAC (Districtus Austriae Controllatus) wines adhere to specific quality standards and are recognized by the red-white-red band on the bottle.
