Anopedias

Anopedias (plural of Anopedia) are a hypothetical group of extinct or mythical creatures described as flightless birds with feet resembling those of cattle. Reports and alleged sightings, primarily historical, are scant and lack scientific verification. The existence of anopedias is widely considered to be folklore or misidentification of known species. The term sometimes appears in older bestiaries and collections of curious accounts, often without a definitive description beyond the ungulate-like feet. Due to the lack of concrete evidence, anopedias remain outside the realm of established zoology. Their depiction and characteristics vary, contributing to their classification as legendary rather than factual animals.
