Keşqutan

Keşqutan is a village located in the Qubadli District of Azerbaijan. It was occupied by Armenian forces during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War in 1993. Following the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War, the area surrounding Keşqutan was recaptured by Azerbaijan as part of a broader agreement. The village is situated in a mountainous region. Its pre-occupation demographics were primarily Azerbaijani. Information regarding the current state of the village, including population and infrastructure, is still developing post-conflict. The name likely derives from Turkic origins, possibly referencing geographical features or historical significance within the area. More research is needed to definitively establish the etymology.
