Katrina and the Waves (album)

The self-titled debut album by Katrina and the Waves was released in 1983. However, this initial release was only available in Canada. It was an independent album, preceding their major label debut and breakthrough success. The Canadian album featured versions of songs that would later appear on their international debut album, also self-titled, in 1985. The Canadian version's tracks showcased the band's early New Wave and pop-rock sound. While it established their presence in Canada, it's often overshadowed by their later, internationally recognized release.
