Jusant
Jusant, also known as ebb tide, refers to the period during which the tide is receding, falling, or going out. It is the opposite of flot (flood tide) and describes the decreasing height of the sea level. The jusant continues until it reaches the low tide mark, after which the tide begins to rise again. The speed and duration of the jusant are influenced by various factors, including the gravitational forces of the moon and sun, the configuration of the coastline, and local weather conditions. Understanding jusant is crucial for maritime activities such as navigation, fishing, and coastal construction.
