Joanna (singer)
Joanna Wang, professionally known as Joanna Wang (王若琳), is a Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter and record producer. Born August 1, 1988, in Taipei, Taiwan, she is known for her distinctive husky voice and eclectic musical style that blends jazz, pop, blues, and folk influences.
Wang released her debut album, Start from Here, in 2008 to critical acclaim and commercial success. Her subsequent albums, including Joanna & Wang Ruo-Lin (2009), The Adventures of Bernie the Schoolboy (2011), Galaxy Crisis: The Strangest Midnight Broadcast (2014), and Bob Music (2019), have showcased her versatility and songwriting prowess.
Beyond her studio albums, Wang has also contributed to various film soundtracks and collaborated with other artists. She has received numerous awards and nominations throughout her career, establishing her as a prominent figure in the Mandarin-language music scene and gaining international recognition for her unique sound. Her father is Taiwanese music producer Wang Zhi-ping.
