John Topham (photographer)

John Topham (1908-1992) was a British documentary and rural life photographer. He is best known for his extensive collection of photographs documenting everyday life in post-war Britain, particularly in the countryside.

Topham began his career as a freelance photographer in the 1930s, working for various newspapers and magazines. After serving in the Royal Air Force during World War II, he returned to photography and focused on capturing the changing face of rural England.
