Joseph Harper (Labour politician)

Joseph Harper was a New Zealand politician who served as a Member of Parliament for the Labour Party. He represented the electorate of Roskill from 1954 to 1966.

Harper entered parliament following the 1954 general election, succeeding Arthur Faulkner who had been elected to the newly created electorate of Parnell. He served on various parliamentary committees during his tenure. He was known for his advocacy for the working class and his commitment to social welfare policies.

Harper lost his seat in the 1966 general election to Hugh Templeton of the National Party. After his parliamentary career, he remained active in the Labour Party and continued to contribute to local community affairs.
