John Coyne (politician)
John Coyne (born c. 1945) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He served as a Progressive Conservative Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for the riding of Durham East from 1981 to 1985.
Prior to entering provincial politics, Coyne was a farmer and businessman in the Durham region. He was elected in the 1981 Ontario general election, defeating Liberal candidate Sam Madill. During his term, he served as a backbench member of the government led by Premier William Davis.
Coyne ran for re-election in the 1985 Ontario general election but was defeated by Liberal candidate Ross Stevenson. After leaving provincial politics, he returned to his agricultural and business interests.
