John Butler (defensive back)

John Butler is a former professional American football defensive back. He played college football at Ohio State University before being drafted into the National Football League (NFL).

Butler was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 1984 NFL Draft. He played six seasons for the Packers, primarily as a cornerback. He was known for his physical play and coverage skills.

Following his time with the Packers, Butler played for the Cleveland Browns for two seasons.

After his playing career ended, Butler transitioned into coaching. He has held various coaching positions at the college and professional levels, specializing in defensive backs.
