John Butler (American football executive)

John Butler is an American football executive currently serving as the General Manager of the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL).

Butler joined the Bills in 2013 as a college scout. He steadily rose through the ranks, holding various positions including area scout, assistant director of college scouting, and co-director of player personnel. In May 2022, he was promoted to Assistant General Manager.

In April 2024, Butler was promoted to General Manager of the Bills, succeeding Brandon Beane, who retained the title of Executive Vice President. His primary responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the Bills' player personnel decisions, including scouting, player evaluation, and contract negotiations.
