John Bland (American football)
John Bland (born May 26, 1950) is a former American football defensive back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the St. Louis Cardinals (1972-1980) and the Washington Redskins (1981).
Bland played college football at Delaware State University. He was drafted by the Cardinals in the second round of the 1972 NFL Draft.
During his NFL career, Bland was known for his ball-hawking abilities. He recorded 25 interceptions for the Cardinals and 2 for the Redskins. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 1976.
